Facade Primer

Flügger Facade is products for exterior treatment of mineral substrates. Provides a diffusion-open, weather-resistant surface.
Product Description
Colourless primer for mineral substrates. Provides effective base and adhesive surface on mildly chalking and absorbent substrates.- Mineral substrate
- Improves adhesion
- Colourless
Usage
Lightly chalking and absorbent mineral facades such as render, concrete and light concrete prior to treatment with facade paint.Substrate
Must be clean, dry, firm and suitable for surface treatment. The surface must be completely dry containing no heavy chalking and efflorescence.
New, untreated mineral substrates and filler must be cured for at least 4 weeks before treatment.
Thinly plastered bricks must not be treated for at least 2 years at the earliest.
Leaching of salts and other water-soluble components must be completed.
Rising ground moisture or moisture from cracks, protrusions such as water traps, uncovered wall coping or other constructions details must not be permitted.
Treatment
Remove precipitates, loose material and paint by washing and cleaning.Dirt, grease and contaminants should be removed using Façade Clean.
Algae, mould and mould growth are removed by cleaning with Façade Algae Remover.
Fill larger cracks with the same material.
Application
Brush or roller.Decide on your mode of application according to the desired finish.
Apply uniformly wet on wet, finish by brushing in the same direction.
Cold / heat can affect the viscosity of the material.
Condensation must be prevented during drying/curing.
Avoid working in direct sunlight and on very hot surfaces.
Cold and increased humidity extends drying time, full curing and recoating interval.
Increased temperature and low atmospheric humidity reduce drying time and full curing.
Always test adhesion and result before hanging.
Be Aware
Protect freshly painted surface from adverse weather conditions.Take appropriate measures against the effects of moisture and rainfall on freshly painted surfaces.
The surface achieves maximum robustness when fully cured.
It is important to apply a suitable layer thickness so that the substrate is saturated but does not appear shiny after drying.
Environmental information
Clean off the paint from tools and wash them with water. Bring remains of fluent paint to the local recycling centre. Minimize your paint waste by pre-estimating how much paint you need. Keep the leftover paint for future use so you can effectively reduce the environmental impact.Storage: Cool, frost-free, and tightly closed
Protection equipment: Painting: eye protection, gloves. Sanding: respiratory protection
